Body Jewelry

Body jewelry is jewelry that is worn on parts of the body that are usually not visible when one is out in public. However, with the changing styles of clothing it is very fashionable to wear short T-shirts that show the belly button and part of the stomach. Therefore, many women and young girls are having their belly buttons pierced so that they can add rings and studded jewelry in their navels. Wearing jewelry on this part of the body draws attention to the center of the body.

There are many different kinds of body jewelry available. You can have gold, silver, titanium or platinum. The jewelry is usually small rather than large and dangling and is similar to small earrings for pierced ears. Many men and women have their nipples or genital area pierced and use small pieces of jewelry as decorative touches for these parts of the body. The tongue and nose and not left out either as it is quite common to see someone with several studs in the side of the nose or to see a touch of gold when they speak.

Body jewelry is also used for the lip as some people like to have their lip pierced. The jewelry is usually placed to one side or the other and is rarely seen in the center of the lip. When you wear jewelry on sensitive parts of the body, you need to take more care than you do with your ears. Because the skin on these areas is not hardened by being exposed to the sun and the air, it is very possible to get a bad infection if you do not keep it clean. The jewelry should be taken out and the area cleaned at least twice a day. .
